Leading piling and foundation contractor Van Elle have recently been awarded the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Certificate of Commitment Gold Award by Trevor Walker Chairman of the CSCS.

The award recognises the company’s commitment to improving competence in the construction industry and covers a wide range of construction disciplines.

Van Elle’s Group Training Coordinator Mellissa Henson commented, “we have always been committed to investing in our staff at all levels and the Gold Award recognises that commitment and reinforces the fact that when we send a team to site they are competent in the operations they are about to carry out.”

To attain the Gold Award over 75% of the workforce have to be registered under the CSCS scheme, “we have at present around 88% of the workforce registered so it won’t be too long before we qualify for the Platinum Award which is where over 90% are registered,”

Group Chairman Michael Ellis has long been an advocate of investing in his workforce, “our people are our greatest asset and recession or not we will continue to invest in their training and development.”
