Although, at one time, probably the largest sector for new build and redevelopment sites, traditional Industrial schemes have, over the past 20 years or so, been on the decline. More recently, however, we have seen a growth in the number of these large projects and they are often very challenging and high in value.
With the government's recent announcements regarding the planned spending increase and focus on rebuilding the UK's manufacturing industry, this sector is likely to get the much needed boost it has been lacking for so long, with many of our goods now being imported from China, India and Germany.
As with retail, house building and many other sectors, the longer the development takes, the more opportunity to build revenue is lost and this is often reflected in the allowed timescales written into these contracts ensuring planning, designing, installing and testing are all equally important.
