Geothermal systems are amongst the most environmentally friendly known to man producing no localised emissions and so not contributing to air pollution or global warming. They are also extremely efficient. Using the earth’s free and sustainable energy they typically operate at 400% efficiency meaning that for every unit of energy they use, four more are produced. The earth absorbs 47% of the sun’s energy which amounts to 500 times more energy than is required by mankind each year, however, until now this resource has been vastly under exploited.
