Rotary Bored Piling

Bored piles, more commonly larger diameters and used to support greater loads although not exclusively, are formed by drilling through a temporary casing, using an auger. The casing gives support to the pile through unstable ground and once the required depth is reached, the reinforcement is added and the concrete poured. As the concrete reaches the full depth of the pile, the casing is removed allowing it to be reused in future. In cases where the ground is still unstable at depth, support fluids can be added.

Van Elle's rotary capability and our range of rigs is extensive, enabling us to tender for and install piles of all depths and diameters. We regularly design temporary cased rotary piled secant and contiguous retaining walls allowing for greater vertical tolerances and therefore greater retained heights compared to traditional CFA solutions.
