The UK's highways have benefited from much of the Government’s infrastructure spend over recent years and this sector remains a key beneficiary from Van Elle's investment in the latest plant and technologies. Our involvement throughout the design, tender, installation and testing stages on highway schemes across the UK, has enabled us to assist many contractors, engineers and Highways England in reducing programme and making considerable cost savings.
As well as offering the UK's largest portfolio of geotechnical services, Van Elle's innovative fleet of specialist GI, piling, soil nailng and anchoring rigs ensures we can undertake all ground engineering projects efficiently and safely in this restricted and challenging environment.
Our latest investment includes 2 Soilmec STM-20 truck-mounted drill rigs specifically designed to install piles on highways. Maximising productivity whilst minimising ground preparation, this new plant will meet all of your foundation requirements without impacting upon the operating lanes of the highway.
Our expert engineers and experienced fully qualified operatives design and install contiguous and secant piled retaining walls, bearing piles for gantries, signal bases and bridge abutments and ground anchors and soil nails to stabilise rock faces and embankments, safely and efficiently using innovative, often bespoke, rigs. Specialist project teams oversee our multi-disciplinary services making scheduling easier and delivering a safe, organised approach to the work.
Regular site audits are carried out by members of our health & safety and management teams to monitor activities assuring clients of the highest quality service and a managed programme of works with an emphasis on safety.
Recent highway projects include the A1 Embankment Stabilisation for the Carillion Morgan Sindall JV, the A5 and M11 soil nailing for Interserve, the M1 drilling & grouting for Costain and the A453 ground anchors for Laing O’Rourke.
