Rock Bolts & Netting

Rock Bolts & Netting

Van Elle offer complete design and installation packages for all rock face, tunnel and bridge stailistaion schemes, utilising highly experienced trained operatives and the latest innovative plant and techniques.

Rock bolts are long anchors which are used to stabilise rock cuttings, tunnels and bridge structures as often found in the rail and highway environments. Regularly used in conjunction with wire fall-arrest netting, they transfer loads from the unstable exterior, to the stable, and much stronger, interior of the rock mass.

Rock bolts work by 'knitting' the rock mass together preventing sections from acting independently, becoming loose and potentially falling. Unlike common ground anchors, rock bolts can become 'seized' throughout their length by small shears in the rock mass, so they are not solely dependent upon their pull-out strength.

Our early involvement in projects has resulted in significant savings in both programme and cost for many of our clients. Our success on these projects has led to a very high percentage of repeat business and an unrivalled reputation for quality, safety and value-engineered solutions.

These products are often installed in conjunction with our other services and our vastly experienced project teams manage the overall process giving the client a single point of contact and ensuring that the scheduling ensures the job runs smoothly minimising the impact on the infrastructure.
