Abrasive Wheels Training

Classroom based practical and theoretical training with multimedia presentations, to demonstrate the need for safety in the use of abrasive wheels.

In order to comply with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, this course must be taken by anyone who fits abrasive wheels to equipment or uses equipment fitted with abrasive wheels. An Abrasive Wheel as defined by the HSE is 'any powered wheel/cylinder/disc/belt or point which is constructed from or coated with abrasive particles.' E.g. Angle Grinder / Bench Grinder / Still Saw / Sanders At the end of the course candidates will take a short test of the content covered and upon completion will receive a Certificate of Competence.

  • Assessment in the safe mounting of the wheel/disc and use of the machine
