On Wednesday (12th October) a cheque for £17,000 was handed over to Cancer Research UK following money raised by Van Elle employees.
Every year we support our nominated ‘Charity of the Year’. Our chosen charity for 2021/2022 was Cancer Research UK, which is the world’s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, influence, and information.
Donations are a crucial part of our commitment to serve and support the communities in which we operate.
As well as salary sacrifices throughout the year, we supported campaigns and encouraged our employees to take part in fundraising as individuals and within the business.
Mark Cutler, Chief Executive, said: “Supporting charities and local causes is very important to us at Van Elle.
“It’s a pleasure to be able to raise so much money for a cause that is so close to us all. We’ve all been affected by this disease in one way or another and the work that Cancer Research carry out is vitally important.”
Becky Elphick, Relationship Manager for Cancer Research, said: “On behalf of everyone at Cancer Research UK I’d like to thank all the staff at Van Elle for raising a whopping £17,000 for the charity.
“This is such a staggering amount especially when you consider how difficult fundraising has been over the past 18 months. The money raised will go towards funding research that will help to save lives in the future.
“Cancer Research UK’s aim is to bring about a world where everybody can lead longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer but this will only be made possible thanks to those individuals and companies, like Van Elle, who donate or fundraise to support this vision. Thank you once again.”
