Celebrating Apprentices’ Achievements

As National Apprenticeship Week ends, we at Van Elle are proud to celebrate the achievements of our apprentices who completed their programmes this year. Apprentices are a vital part of our team, bringing new ideas, energy, and enthusiasm to everything we do. Their hard work and commitment inspire us all.

This year, our apprentices have not only developed their skills but have also made valuable contributions to our projects. From mastering technical tasks to showing great teamwork, they’ve proven themselves to be future leaders.

We sat down with our recently passed apprentices to discuss their experience and what they are looking forward to in the future.

Amber North, HR Advisor, commented: “Completing my HR Apprenticeship has been an incredible journey of growth and learning. It has not only deepened my understanding of HR principles but also allowed me to gain invaluable hands-on experience in supporting people and processes. This qualification has built a strong foundation for my career, equipping me with the skills to make a positive impact in the workplace”.

George Medley, Quantity Surveyor, commented: “During my time at Van Elle, I have had the privilege of working alongside an incredibly supportive and knowledgeable team, whose guidance has been instrumental in my professional development and the successful completion of my degree. I am excited to continue progressing within the company, contributing to the team’s success, and driving the growth of the business”.

Amelia Billing, Housing Administrator, commented: “Now that I have finished my apprenticeship, I hope to further my career within Van Elle by continuing to strive to be the best person/colleague that I can be by helping the admin team around me and the wider housing division. The team that I work with, and wider company have been fundamental in the completion of my apprenticeship by offering guidance, support, and answers to any questions I have. I have learnt a lot about my role through my apprenticeship but have also gained valuable experience and knowledge within the housing/piling industry. My apprenticeship has given me a sense of direction regarding where I would like my future to head and how I can achieve these goals”.

Lorien Males, Piling Administrator, commented: “My apprenticeship was overall a great experience. I had a few setbacks but throughout everything my manager and the whole Van Elle team were so supportive and really motivated me to push through and get it done. I have learned skills and habits that have become rooted in the way I work, and that I can carry with me for my whole career. I am very proud of myself for what I achieved, which couldn’t have been possible without such support. I am excited to continue now as a fully fledged administrator.”

Harry Clay, Fitter, said: “During my apprenticeship, I’ve gained valuable experience from skilled colleagues and developed both technical and life skills, such as confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving. I’ve been fortunate to work with an experienced and supportive team, and I’ve enjoyed travelling to different parts of the country, learning from diverse environments and gaining a broader perspective on the work. Looking ahead, I plan to take a course in electrical work to expand my knowledge and further my career. I’ve also started mentoring current apprentices, which I find rewarding. Having been in their position, I understand the challenges they face and enjoy offering support to help them succeed.”

Congratulations to all our apprentices! Your achievements inspire us, and we look forward to seeing all you accomplish in the future.
