Van Elle Strengthens Fleet Capability Through Investment in New Equipment

Van Elle has invested in new equipment across the business to strengthen operational capability. This supports growing demand in the energy and infrastructure sectors and enhances the safe, efficient delivery of complex ground engineering solutions.

Comacchio GEO305 Drilling Rigs

commachioStrata Geotechnics has expanded its fleet with two Comacchio GEO305 drilling rigs, increasing capacity for rotary drilling and coring. The rigs feature wide tracks, which reduce ground bearing pressure and improve access across sensitive surface conditions commonly encountered on energy and infrastructure projects, supporting growing demand across these sectors.

Designed for versatility, the rigs support wireline drilling, dynamic sampling, water or air flush drilling and casing advancement systems, enabling efficient delivery across varied ground conditions.

Their compact design enables easy transport via tractor, trailer or RRV, while Stage V engines help reduce emissions.

Hütte 206 Rigs

HutteCapability in restricted access piling has been enhanced with the introduction of two Hütte 206 rigs, supporting increased demand for works in confined environments where space and ground conditions are limited.

The rigs are purpose-built for confined working areas where larger conventional piling rigs cannot operate effectively. Despite their compact footprint, they are capable of installing casing up to 880mm, delivering strong performance in restricted-access environments.

Their design improves manoeuvrability in tight working areas as well as capability of installing piles in difficult ground conditions.

This addition increases capacity for restricted access piling and enhances operational flexibility across the business.

Casagrande C6 Rigs

C6The Ground Stabilisation fleet has been strengthened with a new Casagrande C6 XP2 drilling rig, increasing productivity and operational capability on site.

The rigs are designed for high-performance rotary percussive drilling and provide flexibility across a wide range of applications. They support casing installation up to 320mm and the installation of soil nails, anchors and micropiles up to 103mm.

The new additions add to an existing strong fleet of C6, C6 XP and C6 XP2 drilling rigs which have given continued high performance in drilling applications. The newly added remote monitoring provides real-time performance data, supporting improved efficiency and reduced downtime.

HF50 Helical Former Machine

Helix

ScrewFast, which specialises in helical piling and modular steel foundations, has acquired an HF50 helical former machine for its fabrication facility.

The machine forms the helical plates welded onto steel shafts to create screw piles. It shapes flat steel plate into precise spirals, controlling pitch, diameter and thickness with accuracy and high-volume efficiency.

This increases production capacity for large-diameter helical piles, supporting growing demand in the energy and water sectors and strengthening delivery capability across major infrastructure projects, including rail and highways.
