Having been named ‘Ground Engineering Specialist of the year’ in the 2011 EMAP Specialists Awards and a finalist in the same category in the 2012 honours, we are pleased to announce that we have also been named as a finalist in this year’s ‘Ground Engineering Awards’. Consistently outperforming our competitors in terms of tenders, innovation and business results, we are very pleased to be recognised for our achievements in this way and look forward to meeting with our colleagues, clients and suppliers to acknowledge our sector’s successes at the prestigious awards lunch on the 4th May at the London Grosvenor House Hotel.

Birmingham New Street

Over the recent Christmas period, and for the second consecutive Christmas, Van Elle have successfully carried out the piling works on the Gateway Project at Birmingham New Street during a period of planned possessions. The works, consisted of 22 piles installed by 2 rigs across four platforms on Christmas day and Boxing day. Network Rail, the principal contractor Mace and our client, Birse Rail, were all extremely pleased with our project planning, health & safety and the successful outcome, leaving site well within the allotted timescales.

Van Elle have recently undergone our annual Link-Up audit and we are pleased to announce that we have, yet again, passed with flying colours allowing us to continue working on rail projects of all sizes and complexities. This is a sector which has grown substantially for Van Elle over the past five years and we have invested in a great deal of bespoke, specialist equipment and our in-house design team enabling us to undertake complex and demanding projects regardless of where in the UK and Ireland, they are located

Offering our clients superior reliability and quality with enhanced access, depth and diameter capabilities, we are able to design and install effective and efficient solutions for all of our clients foundation and ground stabilisation requirements. With the technical expertise, dedication and teamwork of our fantastic staff, these investments have helped us to top the table for most profitable piling specialist in a recent Construction News survey. Recent additions to the Van Elle Fleet include a new DAF 105XF wagon, a Llamada P140TT large CFA rig and a bespoke Klemm KR708-2 restricted access rig.

2011 has been quite a year so far for the reigning ‘Ground Engineering Specialist of the Year’. Having become the UK’s largest independent piling and ground stabilisation contractor, securing many of the year’s most prestigious contracts and further developing what is already the sector’s most diverse service offering, Van Elle, have again, managed to outperform every other piling company to claim the top spot as most profitable specialist. Whilst many competitors are still going out of business or are being swallowed up by larger companies, Van Elle have gone from strength to strength, offering clients true value engineered solutions utilising our experience, in-house design capabilities, customer service and continued investment in innovative bespoke rigs.

Carline Road Awards Ceremony

Van Elle and guests, Manor Crest Homes, were delighted to be ‘Highly Commended’ at this year’s East Midlands region ICE Merit Awards for the Carline Road Development in Lincoln. This extremely challenging scheme was recognised for making use of this prime hill top location overlooking Lincoln centre. Raison Foster Associates designed the retaining walls and Van Elle installed them creating steps down the steep slope enabling this land to be utilised for executive homes.
