Van Elle Complete Energy Tower Construction on SPEN Maintenance Framework

#VanElle #SpecialistPiling #SPEN

Recently, our specialist piling team supported the construction of a new energy tower as part of the SPEN Maintenance Framework.

The project involved constructing a replacement tower adjacent to the deteriorating ZCN38 energy tower. This solution was chosen over reinforcing the existing structure and works undertaken using low headroom restricted access piling rigs reducing the impact on power grid downtime while offering a more reliable and sustainable long-term outcome

Following a geotechnical review of borehole data provided by Strata Geotechnics, steel-cased driven piles were selected as the most suitable foundation type, offering both structural stability and efficient installation in the identified ground conditions. Our scope of works included the installation of 40 No. 323 mm diameter steel-cased bottom-driven piles.

Van Elle are proud to share that the successful delivery of this phase has resulted in the award of Phase Two, further strengthening our partnership with SPEN and reinforcing confidence in our team’s capabilities. Well done to everyone involved in delivering this critical project.
