Van Elle’s Pre-Construction Technical Manager, Giovanni, travelled to Milan in November to attend the MADE Expo, Italy’s leading international trade fair for the construction and architecture sectors. The trip was organised by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) London.
MADE Expo brings together hundreds of companies, designers, builders, and industry specialists, showcasing the latest advancements in building materials, technologies, and sustainable construction solutions. The event provided Giovanni with a valuable opportunity to engage in business development, connect with international industry professionals, and strengthen Van Elle’s presence within the European market.
Held biennially, MADE Expo is recognised as one of Europe’s most influential industry events, attracting tens of thousands of visitors and featuring hundreds of exhibitors from across the globe. Spread across multiple halls, this year’s exhibition showcased cutting-edge building materials, high-performance systems, digital construction tools, advanced machinery, structural innovations, and a strong focus on sustainability and energy-efficient design.
The 2024 edition of the event placed particular emphasis on environmental responsibility, highlighting low-carbon construction methods, circular-economy materials, and technologies supporting the energy transition, key themes shaping the future of the sector. Live demonstrations, interactive zones, and specialist workshops allowed attendees to explore how innovation is transforming construction processes and enabling smarter, safer, and more sustainable building practices.
A key focus of Giovanni’s visit was to explore emerging technologies and assess their potential application within Van Elle’s operations. He also attended a series of presentations that contributed to his continued professional development.
Throughout the expo, Giovanni supported the wider Van Elle team, offering technical insight relating to ongoing projects as well as potential future opportunities.
