CSR activity improves community green space

Community

On Friday 25th February, a Kirkby community space received some TLC as ten of our team joined other community volunteers to plant 150 saplings.

The trees were planted in Holiday Hills Park, just five minutes from our head office, surrounding a children’s playground and BMX track.

The event, organised by Ashfield District Council as part of their campaign to plant 1,000 trees, will promote biodiversity, create habitats and improve the environment for local people.

Our team joined representatives from the council and children from Bracken Hill School.

Rob Walsh, Group Services Director at Van Elle, said: “Through our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative we’re aiming to have a more meaningful, positive impact on the people, places and environments in which we work.

“Today’s activity at Holiday Hills Park was a great opportunity to get involved in a local campaign to improve the spaces the Kirkby community regularly make use of.

“It was a great turn out from our team, who joined in from a variety of divisions and departments.”
